The Lemosho Route is widely regarded as the most picturesque and highly recommended route for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, approaching the mountain from the west and traversing the stunning Shira Plateau before joining the Machame trail. Typically undertaken over 7 or 8 days

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Climb High, Sleep Low

Trek up to Lava Tower (4,630m) for lunch, an important acclimatization point. In the afternoon, descend into the lush Barranco Valley, surrounded by giant groundsels, to camp at Barranco Camp (3,960m).

Day 2: Scaling the Barranco Wall

An exciting scramble up the Barranco Wall, followed by a scenic traverse of ridges and valleys. Arrive at Karanga Camp (4,035m) for rest and acclimatization.
